About Alon Rosin
Alon Rosin has spent more than 29 years working across institutional trading, derivatives strategy, portfolio management, and client advisory. He is currently Managing Director and Head of US Institutional Equity Derivatives at Oppenheimer & Co., leading the firm’s business and advising buy-side clients on listed equity option strategies and cross-asset solutions.
Rosin’s career has been unique in the sense that he’s always kept one foot on the buy side and one foot on the sell side. He spent nearly a decade working within hedge funds as a portfolio manager and senior trader before spending almost eighteen years running institutional sales and derivatives businesses on Wall Street.
This blend has afforded him a solid practitioner’s perspective of how institutional investors think about risk, positioning, liquidity, and market volatility.
Alon graduated Cum Laude from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1997. This was after he made the Dean’s list earlier in 1995 and 1996. Upon graduation, Alon joined the Sales & Trading training program at Salomon Brothers, which eventually merged into Citigroup.
The environment at that time was marked by fast-moving institutional markets early in his career, which undoubtedly contributed to the systematic decision-making expertise he would later become known for.
